Welcome to secret 6.
Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy is an exciting medical treatment approved by the FDA and AMA which enhances tissue levels of life giving oxygen. Normally, oxygen is almost exclusively carried by red blood cells. During HBO therapy, there is a substantial increase in the amount of oxygen carried in all body fluids including plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, lymph, and intracellular fluids. This allows increased oxygen levels even in areas with poor or compromised blood supply as well as in areas of tissue damage. Increasing tissue oxygen levels produces several important long term therapeutic benefits including enhanced growth of new blood vessels, increased ability of white blood cells to destroy bacteria and remove toxins, increase growth of fibroblasts (cells involved in wound healing), and enhanced metabolic activity of previously marginally functioning cells including brain neurons.
According to a recent study published in the American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulation Physiology, (http://ajpheart.physiology.org) hyperbaric oxygen treatments increases by 800% the number of stem cells circulating in a patient’s body. Stem cells, also called progenitor cells, are important players in repairing the body after injury and in tissue regeneration. Stem cells exist in the bone marrow and are capable of changing their characteristics to become part of many different organs and tissues. When a body part is injured, stem cells are mobilized and provide the cells necessary for the healing process to occur. If you are doing PRP, Prolotherapy, Prolozone, or Adipose Derived Stem Cell you need stem cells to be activated and energized by oxygen at some level. The more activation and differentiation the better cell and tissue repair. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) provides an important trigger or stimulus for this mobilization.
Penn Study Finds Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments Mobilize Stem Cells.
ScienceDaily (Dec. 28, 2005) — According to a study to be published in the American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulation Physiology, a typical course of hyperbaric oxygen treatments increases by eight-fold the number of stem cells circulating in a patient’s body. Stem cells, also called progenitor cells are crucial to injury repair. The study currently appears on-line and is scheduled for publication in the April 2006 edition of the American Journal.
Heres another study on Hyperberic Oxygen and Stem Cell.

Take a look at a video I have done on the science behind EWOT.
“This is the safest way clinically to increase stem cell circulation, far safer than any of the pharmaceutical options,” said Stephen Thom, MD, Ph.D., Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, lead author of the study. “This study provides information on the fundamental mechanisms for hyperbaric oxygen and offers a new theoretical therapeutic option for mobilizing stem cells… We reproduced the observations from humans in animals in order to identify the mechanism for the hyperbaric oxygen effect.”
This is great news for HBO therapy but what about EWOT?
So HBO works in a different way then EWOT. HBO is passive and the pressure drives the oxygen into the tissues. EWOT super saturates the plasma which drives more oxygen into the tissues. This extra oxygen is then used by the body. One of the uses they discovered was that it worked to clear out these trapped blood proteins that can clog the capillaries. I like EWOT as it is active and works with physiology. There has been no studies on the use of EWOT and stem cell directly but one would conclude that the benefit would be similar. My feelings are that EWOT would be better only because one could do this daily in your home. Doing EWOT for a couple weeks before and after a procedure would make sense to me. We use this protocol at our office many times with our patients. I made a DVD and Manuel that outlines the protocol and the supplies and supplements necessary to do EWOT correctly.
